Reading – Book Talk
We are using images to help predict and make inferences about the text prior to reading. Students will be able to justify their thinking by explaining what they believe a story will be about.
Writing – Crocodile grips
How to hold a pencil correctly and form letters using the correct direction. We will begin to explore the hopping pattern used to form the letters – m,n,p, h
Maths – Base 10: ‘Friends of Ten’
How many ways can we make 10?
Students will be using concrete materials to demonstrate their understanding of 10. We will then begin to document all the different ways we can make 10 through drawing.
Wellbeing – Circle Time
Developing speaking and listening skills by allowing students to share ideas or objects with the group. Listeners will be asked to recall some of the important details about what the speaker has told them.
Inquiry – How can we make connections through our wonderings?
Students have begun to make connections with each other through the wonders they have about the world around them. Students have been exploring their wonders through different forms of expression such as self portraits, thinking bubbles, construction, drawing and puppet shows.
