HPE update – weeks 9 & 10

As we wrap up the school year, there has been a school-wide focus on student agency – children having the opportunity to explore activities and practice sport-specific skills. Highlights from the Preps – creating and building movement courses for the space hoppers. Year 1 – students with a shared love of dance routines. Year 2 – along with learning a new challenging game (Ultimate Survivor), the year 2s have continued to request their favorite games. The 3/4 neighborhood has been selecting different sports and activities on offer – now that contact sport can be played indoors; soccer and netball have been popular. Low impact games like table tennis and darts are also enjoyed! 5/6s have been put into teams, and have been playing a round-robin competition. The sport selected to play each week is chosen by students and there are opportunities for reffing and scoring duties.

All the best to everyone for 2021. Keep active over the holidays and make sure you are getting some swimming practice in! It has been an absolute pleasure teaching you all.
