Keith Haring update

Visual Art Weeks 7 and 8

This week we brought together Line, pattern, shape and colour into one final work…

We also used Keith Haring’s images of Dancing Dogs as our main inspiration for the composition of our work.

Students tried to capture the movement in Keith haring’s work by using angled drawings, lines and patterns

We used our letter collages of creatures and figures and our black and white graffiti inspired line drawings that we created in the past few weeks as inspiration for a final work.

Here is Evie’s work: It shows the development of her ideas over the past few weeks…

Year 1 and 2 Reflections:

  • We made our own pictures using our creatures and animals from last week.
  • We used all the patterns we explored and put them together with colour
  • We made our creatures look like they are dancing with patterns and lines. It looks like they are having a party.
  • I added and built on my creature when I created my picture this week. I changed a few lines in the body of the creature and I added lots of colour and patterns.

What messages do we see in Keith Haring’s work?

Year 1:

We can see that Keith Haring is interested in humans, the world, other cultures, love,

art and himself.

Keith Haring paints, draws and likes line.
