‘I’m a learner too. We need to support each other.”

This year has been a shared journey of learning for all of us.  Even as teachers we are always learning.

It is with a sad heart that we have been packing up the neighbourhood as the year draws to an end and we have been reflecting on how much we have achieved and learnt.

This year the year one neighbourhood have been exploring stories and how stories can communicate important messages.  The children were particularly interested in the messages they could tell us about the natural environment and highlighted the importance of making positive choices for their future. Through this process the children became increasingly aware of the need to examine the workings of the natural environment.  The children explored the nature of living things through documentation and observation. They were also provoked to examine a different story about the environment through deep conversations and discussions, highlighting their need to take action at school and at home in order to help protect our environment.

A warm thank you to all the year one parents, for your support and contributions in making the year a happy and successful year for all of us.

Wishing you all seasons greeting and a well deserved break!
