Why Write?

According to the Year 2 neighbourhood, this is why we write:

  • We write because if we did a spelling test without using writing imagine how long it would take the teachers to write an individual word at a time. This allows individuals to share their understanding. (Olivia)
  • It entertains people. It is fun. We can express ourselves. We can talk to people far away. (Claudia)
  • For information and to communicate (Maggie)

  • We write because it’s fun and it makes us happy. We can use our imagination. (Lyla)
  • We write because it helps us when we are grown ups. It helps us communicate. (Archie H)
