Week 9 Reflection

Term 2 Week 9 Blog Reflection 21/06/19

Dear Parents and Carers,

Firstly, it is Maggie’s birthday today so we began by singing happy birthday to her.

We have been working really hard on our dioramas. (Molly) The purpose of our dioramas is to help prepare us for the artist in residence next term. They have also made us think more deeply about the descriptive language we used when describing our settings.

We have been busily write out the plans of our narrative. We have thought about the problem (Ziyu), the solution/resolution (Hugo), and the rising actions, which some of us found a bit tricky (Maggie). An example of a rising action is someone being captured and the reader is unsure about what will happen next. (Banjo/Maggie). A rising action is when a problem is about to start. (Beautifully articulated by Ozzy). Two other features are the falling actions and the conflict (Thoughtfully suggested by the conscientious Karl).

Today we met Heidi, the school’s new therapy dog. She was introduced by Keith, who is also her proud (Archie H.) owner.

We have all been preparing for the student-led conferences next week. Hopefully everyone is ready in time.
