Here is what is happening in the neighbourhood this week,
Project Groups
Student’s have formed project groups and are mapping out ways to make changes in the school. We are learning how to work with others outside our friendship groups and how to create and track change in our local community.
Reconciliation Assembly
We are hard at work preparing for this weeks reconciliation assembly. Students have been practices their signing, writing scripts for performances and reflecting on what reconciliation means to us. We would love to see parents are special guests at the assembly at 9:00am on Friday May 31st – this Friday!
Wellbeing focus – Resilience
Our focus for this week is RESILIENCE. We need resilience in our every day lives and to support this we are discussing positive self talk in our neighbourhoods. In the lead up to camp, and for daily life, you can support your child by providing opportunities for them to show resilience and modeling the positive self talk you use.
Narratives
This week we are publishing our narratives. We have been writing them since the start of the term and this week are focusing on different sentence structures and creating published copies to share with our friends and families.
Spelling Focus
This week our spelling focus in on synonyms. Words we can use to add detail to our stories. These are added to our spelling books as a way to build vocabulary.
Math Focus
This week our math focus is on place value. How can we explore numbers in difference ways and how does this understand support our mental addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Reading Response
Reading is a great way to help us connect with the world around us. Reading responses this week include maps to help understand settings, days spent with main characters and finding evidence from the text to help us understand the way a character might be feeling.
Storage Containers
This week is the very final week of our measurement storage container project. We have built our containers and are now finalising our understanding of perimeter and area, as well as documenting and reflecting on our learning.

- The final payment for Year 4 camp is due NEXT TUESDAY. Please check compass and pay as soon as possible.
- Next week our dance and Italian program are coming together to take part in a incursion next Tuesday. Consent and payment for this are also on Compass and are due before you child can participate.
