As there are plenty of events fast approaching this term, we thought it would be helpful for you all to have the following written in your diaries or keep in mind.
Excursions/Incursions:
In line with our inquiry of stories and storytelling for this year, the Year 1 team are busy organising some fantastic excursion/incursion opportunities for the students in the coming weeks. Each excursion/incursion will be in line with each of the project groups (Animations, Story Writing and Puppetry) as well as support other current learning. Please take note these project groups are not home group based, rather have students from all three of our home groups – therefore when permission/payment notes come through on compass, the event will be in line with your child and their project group!
The first event that will be organised will be the Story Writing project group. There are just a few items that need to be finalized for it to be open on compass but keep an eye out on the blog as well as compass for the event details/payments. As a heads up, the Story Writing event will be an incursion – an event that will be held at school.
Other Upcoming Events:
- Walkathon (Wednesday 8th) Please encourage your children to return their sponsorship forms latest Tuesday 7th!
- Mothers/Carers Day Whole School Assembly (Friday 10th starting in the Gym at 9:05am)
- Post Assembly Invitation: after the assembly next Friday, families are welcome to come back into the Year 1 neighbourhoods where the students will be sharing their learning with you. Here, you can have the choice to read a book, read through their writing, talk about their maths or what they’ve been working on through their inquiry project groups!
