Assembly Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

As you know, The Year 1 Assembly performance of “How the Lorikeet Got its Colours” is next week, Friday 24th August at 3pm.

The students have been working hard making beautiful scenery, and are now rehearsing their parts. Everyone has a special role.

Parents have been asking us about costumes.  Please see below for some helpful tips.

Grey/Brown Lorikeets, Storm Orchestra and Storm Leaders.

Grey or brown leggings or trousers, Grey or brown long sleeve  T-shirts or jumpers.

For wings: attach any of the following, or similar, to the underside of the sleeves

Grey or brown streamers, crepe paper, paper, material strips.

Capes and ponchos … batman wings … whatever!

For tail feathers: attach the materials above to a belt.

Colourful Lorikeets

Same as above, but in any combination of the Rainbow Lorikeet colours.

Fire Dancers (who are also Rainbow Wavers) and Fire Orchestra

Same as above but in fire colours: red, orange.  Trousers or leggings may also be black, grey or brown.

Instead of wings, flames may be attached under the sleeves of jumpers or long sleeve T-shirts.

Gold or red tinsel would be sensational!

Narrators

Dressed to look like professional story tellers!  So, open to interpretation.

Some students suggested a black suit, or a coat.  Surprise us!

Although the roles are not all bird roles, we wanted all the children to feel special in wings!

All students will need to wear shoes for OHS. There is no pressure to decorate these!! ☺️

Thank you again for your help with the costumes! We really appreciate your support.
