Special Books

Some of the preps have been bringing in special books from home to share with the neighbourhood this term. Some children bring in their favourite books, others bring in books that they have made themselves.

These experiences helps to foster our culture of reading and valuing books and support students in becoming aware of the variety of literature available to them. It is also lovely for us to be able to read to the children books that they feel are important to them.

Battushig brought a book from Mongolia. We looked at the cyrillic alphabet and talked about how certain children in our neighbourhood speak different languages (such as Mongolian, Somali and German) at home.
Sammie and Archie brought a big book they made together with their mum about dragons!
