Last week, the Preps participated in a writing workshop that introduced the genre of invitation writing. They wrote a draft invitation to our celebration in their writing books, and then participated in shared editing with the teacher.
This week the Preps worked in the art space to creatively decorate their paper in a bug theme and wrote in their card. The preps had the option to include printed text in their invite. Some children used a combination of their own writing and printed text, while others chose to write their invitation by hand independently.
