This week in the inquiry our systems focus is on relationships and connections between systems. A really great way to look at interdependent relationships is by exploring cause and effect. This will be a major focus in the inquiry this week.
In numeracy we are exploring patterns in our world. We will start by identifying what patterns are, and looking for them in and around our school. We will be creating our own and investigating what it takes to make patterns. This will help the children to develop their understandings around patterns, which supports developing multiplicative thinking through repeated addition and the grouping of numbers.
In Literacy we will be learning some ways to independently respond to texts and will be exploring the ‘oo’ sound as in book, put, could and wolf. The focus of our word investigations supports phonemic knowledge which helps with writing, reading and spelling.
