Why do people write poetry?
What makes a great poem?
What is onomatopoeia? Why might poets use alliteration? What is free verse poetry?
These are some of the questions which we have been considering in the Year 4 neighbourhood. Students have been crafting their own poetry to express their feelings about the transition out of lockdown, and poetry on subjects that inspire or interest them such as nature, the beach and friendship.
Students are also designing a digital slide on which they can present one of the poems they have been working on this week.
