This term we have made connections to museums through the experiences and the opportunities the children have had at Sovereign Hill. We have continued to research, discuss and build our collective understanding through dialogic pedagogies. The children have deepened their connection through reversing the lens of the museum from the past to the present and telling the story of themselves and the story of lockdown.
Some of the provocations have included:
What object/artifact is significant to you and why?
What five objects/artifacts tell the story of you?
The children were asked to show a snapshot of life in lockdown.
How has covid changed your life? How will you tell others about lockdown in the future? How has lockdown changed or affected what you do now?
The students produced videos that captured significant moments in time during lockdown. A ‘living museum’ captured on video. Students uploaded their videos to their Seesaw accounts, and videos will be shared this week through Seesaw’s ‘blog’ function – remember to click on ‘Connected Blogs’ to view both 4A and 4B’s contributions.
